Terry for Virginia Statement on Glenn Youngkin’s Refusal to Disavow Donald Trump’s Deadly Conspiracy Theories

“The only thing ‘weird and wrong’ is Glenn Youngkin’s continued refusal to disavow Donald Trump’s deadly conspiracy theories.” – Spokesperson Christina Freundlich

MCLEAN, VA – Terry for Virginia released the following statement from spokesperson Christina Freundlich regarding Glenn Youngkin’s continued refusal to disavow Donald Trump’s deadly conspiracy theories and the insurrection rally held in Glenn’s honor on October 13:

“Since launching his campaign, Glenn Youngkin has made clear he is running for governor for one person and one person only: Donald J. Trump. Now, with less than three weeks to Election Day, he is closing his campaign the same way he started it — by celebrating Donald Trump’s most dangerous, divisive conspiracy theories about the 2020 election. The only thing ‘weird and wrong’ is Glenn Youngkin’s continued refusal to disavow Donald Trump’s deadly conspiracy theories.” – Spokesperson Christina Freundlich

At the Trump rally in support of Youngkin’s campaign last night, attendees pledged their allegiance to a flag that was present at the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6. Trump also promised Youngkin will enact his agenda as governor, saying Glenn “will do all the things that we want a governor to do.” Youngkin launched his campaign with an “election integrity” task force, which he has called the “most important issue” facing Virginians, and it was the only issue on his website for months. Recently, he called for an “audit” of election machines in Virginia — an action that immediately received praise from Trump himself. Youngkin spent months this year denying the results of the 2020 election and even headlined an insurrectionist-sponsored “election integrity” rally this summer.
